Crystal Palace
Posted on 28 September 2026 · Apply before 2 October 2026
Job Description
The Editorial Manager is the most senior member of our editorial team, responsible for managing – and contributing to – all written output on cpfc.co.uk, the Official Crystal Palace App and editorial publications (including marketing collateral, and supporting on Men’s and Women’s matchday programmes), as well as App push notifications.
With a communications-first mindset, the successful candidate will be expected to produce a broad range of written content, leading on the Men’s team but supporting on Women’s and Academy sides – and digital initiatives and marketing campaigns – when required.
We are seeking someone to deliver best-in-class storytelling which inspires, informs and connects with our supporters around the world, building off the platform of back-to-back trophy-winning campaigns, whilst also effectively managing our newly redeveloped digital estate on a daily basis.
Based primarily in our Central London offices, but with the flexibility to travel to Selhurst Park and our training facilities in Beckenham as the role demands, this role will be expected to work in the week.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
You have
A minimum of four years’ experience as a journalist/editor/sub-editor of a high-traffic digital platform (ideally working in professional football or digital media).
Experience of managing and delivering content in high-pressure environments, such as live sporting events.
Sound editorial judgement and an understanding of sensitivities around digital club content.
The ability to vary copy to fit audiences, platforms and our club house style.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong time management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
An eye for detail.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as we operate in a fast-moving environment with regular, tight deadlines.
Line management experienced preferred.
You are
An outstanding copywriter.
A best-in-class storyteller.
A collaborator, team player by nature.
Able to work to tight deadlines, at pace and juggling multiple workflows.
Proactive and inquisitive – a self-starter with initiative.
Hard-working and committed.
Flexible to work weekends and occasional out-of-hours work.
As part of the role, you are required to work on approximately two-thirds of our Men’s first-team matchdays (with subsequent time off in lieu to be agreed with the Head of Marketing), including some travel.
Additional out-of-hours and matchday work may be required from time to time.
